Any problem of sufficient complexity has a .net wrapper on codeplex. Everything else has a mono workaround on github.
A programming language shouldn’t try to accommodate people who read a java design patterns book and then fail to grasp what a design pattern is by assuming they need classes and objects and inheritance to implement the most basic patterns.
